  • Upon receipt of our letter asking that you mediate a fee dispute, FILL OUT THE "MEDIATOR STATEMENT OF DISCLOSURE" AND RETURN THE FORM TO THE BAR ASSOCIATION BY THE DATE SHOWN. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ACT AS A MEDIATOR BECAUSE OF A CONFLICT, PLEASE CALL THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION IMMEDIATELY AND RETURN THE COMPLETE FILE TO THIS OFFICE.
  • The parties will be notified of your assignment as mediator upon receipt of the "Mediator Statement of Disclosure". A copy of the notice will also be sent to your attention.
  • Within 10 days after the mailing of the notice of mediator assignment, you should contact the parties and arrange a date for the mediation. The mediation shall be held no later than 30 days from the date the notice of assignment of mediator was served or as soon thereafter as possible.
  • If you wish, you may conduct the mediation at the CCCBA offices. It is a good idea to contact all the parties involved first and arrange a list of several dates and times that are amenable to the schedules of all involved. Then call the bar association to check our calendar and schedule the mediation.
  • Upon setting the hearing date, use the "Agreement to Mediate Confirmation" form letter to confirm the hearing with all the parties. A copy should also be forwarded to the bar association.
